Realizar las actividades de mapeo, tracking e investigación de nuevos lugares para pruebas en Puerto Vallarta, revisar los datos de humendad en los capos, hacer horarios de riego de acuerdo a los programas y procedimientos: tensitometros, evaporacíon y correlación de paraámetros. Apoyo al área de irrigación y a empleados del área en actividades como filtración, instalación y mantenimiento de equipo. Riego del invernadero En temporada alta, que va de sept a marzo se trabajará más tiempo los fines de semana.

Assembles and analyzes data of specific problems while initiating actions within standard procedures. Provides leadership for assigned experiments leading to high quality data collected and entered to Internal research database in a timely manner. Encourage to personnel and Follow safety programs. Supports all other Irrigation activities at the Research Center as appropriate. Responsabilities 1. Conduct and support on SAM/IFS programs for daily Irrigation schedules and corrections at the Puerto Vallarta NRSP Center, conducts data collection from moisture and Internal research in PV fields: Conducts irrigation schedules based on SAM/IFS program according to specific procedures, exercising independent judgment and discretion as appropriate. This would include tensiometers collecting data, evaporation pan data and correlation of these parameters. 2. Collect GPS data for field mapping, and tracking of new research testing sites. Compiles and records information using handheld computers for data collection. Monitors tensiometers to assess schedule quality with data collection Position will require extended hours and some weekend hours during seasonal workload peaks in November, December, January, February and March. 3. Provide support for irrigation part-time seasonal employees in various activities including filtration moving, installation and maintenance of equipment, Green house irrigation and fertigation support to temporary employees have a clear understanding of procedures and expectations for assigned tasks. 4. Assess and improve safety practices to meet research center safety goals for reportable incidents, zero lost workdays, and environmental standards. Other duties: May be requested to assist in conducting other activities of the research center, Squid, seed preparation, planting, etc. Support Special projects as deemed necessary. REQUIREMENTS Just graduated from college B.Sc. Degree or equivalent working under rough conditions (mud, high humidity, heat) Work well under pressure to meet deadlines Be able to lift at least 25 Kgs Abel to work overtime during production cycle Leadership Basic computer knowledge Basic drip irrigation knowledge. Coordinates and oversees the activities of planting, farm equipment maintenance, seed handling activities such as drying, shelling/threshing, ear packing, seed treatment and seed fumigation; while supervising the correct operation of SQUID, drying system (SLIMMED), EAR packing and seed tracking devices (SSTS). Leads process improvement projects in the area and coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance programs. RESPONSABILITIES: 1. Coordinates all maintenance activities for farm equipment (tractors, implements, sprayers, etc) ensuring they are available during key activity periods. Working with REST support personnel in Johnston, implement updates to key farm equipment and provide training to operators. Develop preventive and corrective maintenance programs 2. Oversee the day-to-day activities in the drying, shelling/threshing of experimental corn seed as well as the timely fumigation of seed before shipment ensuring priorities are considered and deadlines are met. Identify and pursue improvements that will make the processes more efficient. Identify and provide training to equipment operators. 3. Make sure software and hardware are working correctly for all seed handling activities and provide maintenance with Engineering or IM teams if necessary 4. Work with agronomy on the coordination of all activities related the planting of nursery experiments including identification and training of planter operators 5. Hires, organizes and supervises the work of full time and temporary employees for the area ensuring work is done in a safe and efficient manner WORKING CONDITIONS: Works for long periods of time in the field, workshop and seed handling warehouse. May need to work on weekends or holidays. Expose to dust, heat, noise and wind.
